People who know me know I work with animals a lot. One of the projects closest to my heart is the Husky Romi  Rescue and Wolf Sanctuary in Reitz, South Africa. Named after Romi, an epic husky who tended to gather more huskies and people wherever he went. He is now at the Rainbow bridge but work in his name carries on.

Wolves and Huskies are not indigenous to South Africa. But someone decided it would be waaay coool to have wolves and wolf dogs as  pets. This usually did not work out because these people did not understand the nature of wolves. So many of these beautiful animals are chained up, abused, abandoned and put to sleep.

A wonderful man called Larry has created a sanctuary for these beautiful animals and works tirelessly to home and rehabilitate them at the Husky Romi Rescue and Wolf Sanctuary. Every single contribution from equipment to fencing to food and blankets to money is plunged directly back into saving these animals.

A 12-year old girl felt so inspired by a visit to said sanctuary that she made this video:
